NWFF History

NWFF Inc. (NWFF), was incorporated in 1991 by John Berger.  The company was initially a wild land fire-fighting enterprise.   Seeking diversification, the owner progressively shifted into another passionate environmental concern- emergency spill response.

In the year 2000, NWFF made the plunge into marine spill response on its first job; a 5,600 gallon oil spill on the Yaquina River.  In 2007, the Company qualified as an OSRO, as classified by the U.S. Coast Guard.  In 2009, NWFF opened an office in Portland to respond to the growing marine response needs in the Columbia and Willamette rivers.  Working closely with the U.S. Coast Guard and response cooperatives (such as MSRC,CBRC and MFSA) to provide equipment, labor and management of environmental hazards, NWFF was on-site within 48 hours of the Deepwater Horizon explosion in the Gulf of Mexico.

With a keen eye on the needs of its customers,  NWFF began hazardous waste disposal services in 2010.  Lab packing services have been invaluable to their ever-expanding range of clientele.

2012 also brought exciting growth with the opening of an office in Grants Pass Oregon.  The Grants Pass office provides land based emergency response primarily to local power and gas companies and frequent Highway emergencies.
